Transitional violin

Transitional violin, pernambuco

Made of sensational pernambuco and mammoth or elephant (pre 1972) ivory.

Marc Cooper

I recently acquired a fine transitional violin bow, after Dodd, made by André Klaassen. The craftsmanship is exquisite and the bow handles superbly. There is such a fine balance to the bow, added to an evenness of strength throughout the stroke, that finding both subtlety of expression and power of tone comes easily. This is an excellent bow made by an excellent maker and represents great value for money given the high degree of quality. The pleasure of violin-playing is enhanced enormously thanks to the artistry and skills of this top bowmaker.
